Heading to Ecuador

This week Nick heads south to Ecuador! He will be sourcing coffee that helps to make Choco Coffee so special. Among coffee producers worldwide, Ecuador plays a relatively small role in exports, but it doesn’t mean they can’t produce “COFFEE THAT SLAPS” as one of our owners Brandon has coined. Over the last 10 years producers have shown tremendous growth in the quality of beans and this quality allows us to serve coffees with a variety of tasting profiles from floral and fruity to chocolate and nutty.

One of the farms on his stop will be Hacienda la Papaya, which is one of the most highly recognized specialty coffee farms in Ecuador and located in the Loja Region. Sourcing beans from Hacienda la Papaya allows us to bring multiple varieties of coffee including Typica, Sidra, and B7 with multiple processing types ranging from washed, natural, and anaerobic fermentation. If you had our recent B7 Oak Barrel, then no explanation is needed as to why this farm is so great.

Here at Choco Pronto/ Choco Coffee we are proud to partner with farms throughout Ecuador and highlight the range of coffees produced by a small but vibrant country.

Cheers!
